Robyn B. Stanton, Legal Counsel, Technology Transactions and Life Sciences Regulatory Compliance with Athena Law Group. Robyn is an experienced advisor to companies ranging from early-stage app developers to well-established high tech and biotech companies throughout the Silicon Valley. She is respected for her experience in overseeing complex operations across multiple functions within companies, as well as for her insightful creative strategies. These skills hold her in good stead as she positions businesses for rapid growth in highly regulated industries. Her clients include digital health, data and analytic platforms, medical device, hosted services, medical device, genomics and biotechnology tools and technology companies.

Robyn brings more than 25 years of experience in the fields of high tech, biotech and the life sciences when providing legal advice, licensing, partnering, drafting, negotiation and strategic support for technology and commercial transactions. Her ability to quickly comprehend strategic goals and regulatory solutions makes her well-equipped to successfully draft, negotiate and close these complex transactions.

Her background in pediatric oncology — she has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing — has not only given her a unique perspective on overlapping medical and legal issues, but has shaped her to be the compassionate, efficient, individual she is.

Robyn’s know-how in business law covers a broad range of topics. Known to be a savvy business leader, team builder, and problem solver, she has intricate knowledge of technology and commercial transactions, complex negotiations, FDA/Global healthcare governance and compliance, and HIPAA/Privacy regulations. In addition, as a C-level legal advisor, she is adept at negotiating IP transactions, new business initiatives, licensing and alliances for her clients.

Robyn provides legal counsel and strategic advice to new and emerging technology and life sciences firms, from start-ups to established Fortune 500 companies. At present, her time is divided between high tech and life science companies.

Prior to her affiliation with Athena Law, Robyn was Associate General Counsel for Invitae Corporation of San Francisco. Before that, she was the Senior Director of Legal Services and Healthcare Regulatory Affairs for Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose. Earlier in her career, she held a number of other positions linking medical and legal disciplines, her two passions.
